Problem

The Story Inn boasts a rich history of food and wine and festival excellence. Since 1851, the town of Story has served as a magical getaway for residents throughout the midwest. In the summer of 2015, Story brough on a new general manager who recognized that in order to stay relevant, they needed to take their online presence to the next level. With this in mind, Story approached TEN31 about getting serious about digital marketing.

 

Solution/Results

TEN31 started off with creating a new corporate brand kit and style guide to ensure consistency across all marketing channels. We took over all of the graphic design for digital and print advertising, as well as recommending new budgets for each.

From there, we developed a strategy to reach new a younger demographic though social media campaigns. We launched a successful #DiscoverStoryInn and #HumansOfStory campaign that gained traction on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. TEN31 started Story’s Instagram page from scratch, and it has grown to over 800 followers in under a year. Their Facebook page is also experiencing steady growth from month to month, with an average of 20-30 new likes per month, and a total fanbase of over 9,500.

TEN31 has helped to build segmented email lists for Story which house over 10,000 contacts. We utilize these lists that we’ve helped build to send out promotional emails, as well as a monthly newsletter. In addition, we’ve implemented PPC advertising to increase attendance at major events. 

TEN31 is also responsible for all the marketing and advertising for Story’s annual Indiana Wine Fair and Hoosier Hops & Harvest festivals. In our first year marketing the Indiana Wine Fair, our efforts led to a record number of ticket sales in the 15 years of the event.
