Creating A Successful Marketing Plan For 2020

“What the new year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the new year.” – Vern McLellan

Can you believe that the year 2020 is fast-approaching? With a new year comes new goals, and that should be no different for your marketing strategy. There’s nothing wrong with the tried and true ways you may have used for the past year, but giving your marking plan a bit of a revamp can put you on the path to success for the new year. Here are a few things to keep in mind when planning your 2020 marketing strategy.

Assess & Evaluate. Look at this past year and see what worked and what didn’t. Ideally, you should be keeping detailed statistics of all of your social media outlets throughout the year. Look back on your stats to see what content was the most popular vs. what wasn’t. This can help you to create new goals and content for the new year and ditch the less successful content.

Create A New Year’s Resolution. Your business needs a New Year’s resolution just as much as you do. A new year means a clean slate, and a chance to sit down with your team and plan for the year ahead. Once you’ve evaluated what worked this past year and what didn’t, you can more easily make goals and plans for the new year. It’s even the perfect opportunity to implement new ideas that you didn’t previously have the time to do.

Plan Ahead. There’s nothing wrong with being prepared for the year ahead. Look ahead on your calendar and mark down important dates and national days that you want to incorporate into your content, as well as any birthdays and potential events. You want to make sure that you aren’t caught off guard by any important dates.

Make Change. It never hurts to make a few changes for the new year, especially to things that may not be working as well as you want them too. Spruce up some tired old graphics, get some new content ideas in the mix and freshen up your email marketing campaign. It never hurts to show your followers and clients that you are a fresh and vital company, willing to make change when needed.

Making a thorough plan for the new year can set you up for success for 2020, so don’t procrastinate until the very last minute to breathe some new life into your marketing strategies.
